Lella and Massimo Vignelli

Metafora table designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli in 1979 for Martinelli Luce. The stunning table shows four forms of Euclidean geometry, the cube, the cylinder, the sphere, and the pyramid. The sphere represents the globe, the pyramid represents the Egyptian civilization, the cylinder represents the Roman Empire and the black cube represents the black stone of Kabba at Mecca. The base of the table is made up of four shapes of stones. The configuration of these forms is up to the users to support the top as they wish. It can be changed at any time There are three types of stones available (White Carrara Marble, Black Marquinia, Travertine). This table is available with either any one of the stone types or in a mix combination of these stones.
