PRATONE

Ceretti, Derossi & Rosso

GUFRAM

Designed in 1971 by the Strum Group - Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi and Riccardo Rosso - and produced by Gufram, Pratone Infinito stands out for its experimental identity. This room-object, which reinterprets the idea of seating, reflects the radical attitude of Italian design in the 1970s. Its shape, composed of long vertical elements made of flexible polyurethane, evokes an outsized grassy expanse, designed to accommodate the body in an informal way.

Unlike a traditional seat, Pratone Infinito invites free interaction, does not prescribe postures, and does not impose hierarchies of use. The name ‘Infinito’ refers to a new modular version, designed to extend the usable surface: each module can be placed side by side, ideally extending the lawn to infinity. The covering, in green Guflac, protects the structure and preserves its iconic appearance.

Exhibited in important museum collections, Pratone Infinito is not only a living piece, but also a fragment of design history. It remains faithful to its original spirit while opening up to new contemporary configurations. A clear visual presence, capable of altering the rules of domestic space.
