Kazuhide Takahama

PARADISOTERRESTRE

Naeko armchair, designed by Kazuhide Takahama and manufactured by Paradisoterrestre, features a cherry-wood structure, brass fittings, polyurethane foam padding, upholstered in linen velvet.

This is the wooden-made version of a project developed when Takahama was in Italy to set up the Japanese pavilion at the XI Triennale in Milan, 1956/57. On that occasion he met Dino Gavina, with whom he began a long collaboration and friendship for all his lifetime.

The first version of Naeko in metal was produced by Gavina spa, designed as a daily-bed thanks its completely reclining backrest; immediately a great success, so that it was proposed also in a second version in 1958, more valuable, in wood and exclusively as sofa with fixed backrest, in the same version a armchair was also produced. A wonderful project that architect Takahama had dedicated to his Naeko, who became his wife.

Indoor use only.
