Inspired by domestic associations, such as strokes, wipes, brushes and streaks, Sabine Marcelis captured these gestures expressing her masterful manipulation of color and shade through a hand-knotted collection of rugs created by expert artisans in the cc-tapis Atelier in Nepal. Each rug features a gradient of color saturation and pile height, mirroring the three-dimensionality and irregular pigment of a stroke of paint.
