PAIR OF WASSILY LOUNGE CHAIRS

Marcel Breuer

Vintage

Pair of Wassily lounge chairs dating back to Gavina’s production recently restored with new leather upholstery. After their meeting in New York in 1962, Dino Gavina started the mass production of Marcel Breuer’s furniture made of curved chromed seamless tubular steel designed in the Bauhaus period. Among them, the lounge chair Wassily designed in 1925 Breuer is a perfect example of the rationalist approach. It was called Wassily by Gavina because the Russian painter Kandinsky asked for the prototype for his house.
